Delicious pizza margherita easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Step by Step method

  • In a bowl mix the flour, the water, add the yeast and the salt.

  • Mix with your hand till forming a nice dough. Put the dough in a tray with greaseproof paper underneath.

  • Leave it to risen for 15/20 minutes.

  • Spread the tomato on the top with a sprinkle of extra virgin olive oil and salt.

  • Half way cooking put the mozzarella previously cut and drained. Leave it cooking for another 10 minutes till the mozzarella melt on the top.

  • When ready put the fresh basil on top. Ready to serve.

Tips & variations

  • A curiosity..when this recipe was invented: in 1889 the pizzaiolo Raffaele Esposito, Pizzeria Brandi's chef, invented a dish called "Pizza Margherita" in honor of the Queen of Italy, Margherita of Savoy, and the Italian unification.
