Pear poached in red wine

A super easy recipe for a super pudding! I normally use Sagrantino passito, nothing more. But any robust red wine would work.

Step by Step method

  • Put the wine and the sugar in a pan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.

  • Add the pears and keep them boiling for at least 30 minutes lowering the heat. Turn occasionally. Syrup has to ticket slightly.

  • Once done, transfer the pears in a plate with the wine sauce.

Tips & variations

  • I believe in less ingredients as possible. But there are lots of spices you can use in it. Cinnamon, vanilla, ginger...cream you name it!
