Few ingredients and very easy to make. These red wine bagels are perfect for every palate. Sooo addictive!
Soak the aniseed in red wine. Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees.
In a bowl mix the flour, the cream of tartar, the baking soda the sugar and a pinch of salt. Then add the oil and the wine with the aniseeds.
Mix and knead the dough till it becomes soft and smooth. Leave it to rest covered with cling film for about 20 minutes.
Pinch off about a walnut of the dough and roll/ pull into a 1 cm pencil shape. Form the cookie into a circle and sprinkle with sugar on one side.
Place the cookie on an oven tray with greaseproof paper and bake for about 15 minutes at 180 degrees then lower the temperature at 160 degrees and cook for another 10 minutes.
You can also make them with wine wine I like to use the Vernaccia from Tuscany, walnuts and raisins.
